Rose Haas Alschuler (1887-1979) was a Chicago educator, author, and philanthropist. The founder of the second U.S. public school nursery in Chicago in 1922, Alschuler co-authored the "Chicago Plan" which provided a structure for such public nurseries nationally. She served as an administrator of various federal nursery programs in the 1930s and 1940s.
